The Metal Contact sound library features the recordings of various metal surfaces tortured with different tools. From touching things with fingers, through hitting with metal bars and up to using blenders or magnets to cause the materials to resonate.
While recording this library my goal was to cover different needs, not only for sound designers but also editors. Scrapes and squeaks were recorded with different intensity and speeds, just like the impacts. From soft and quiet, through medium up to loud and reverberant ones.
In addition to the regular approach of just touching, hitting and scraping metal parts, I’ve decided to record few experimental sound effects. Listening to the tons of water flowing through a dam, by sticking the microphones to the building’s wall? You got it. Messing with guitar strings using a blender and magnets? It’s here. Throwing coins and different metal parts inside cast iron cooking dish? No problem!
Different lids, cast iron dishes, metal pots, baking forms and sheets, bullet catcher, different boxes, cooking oven, sinks, fan, pans, grills, coins, small tools, different jugs, electric guitar, buckets, washing machine, metal parts, old doors and walls, road sign, handrails, cages and much more.
Meow! by my cat is a collection of various cute sounds generated by Neva Masquarade cat. They are known for making a lot of noises, and that’s basically what I’m living with on daily basis, so why not to record and let her afford those expensive and fancy treats she likes so much?! More than 130 sounds, released both as individual sound effects for game audio, and grouped long files for other media. Short and long meows, some sweet sounds, the voice of anger and much more, produced and generated by Fiona, I only held the mic!
Looking to add some retro game flavor to your project? The Retro Game library delivers a host of old-school, 8-bit sounding sound effects, including beeps, bleeps, explosions, footsteps, UI sounds, hit and damage sounds, jumps, status and weapon sounds. And they all sound like they came straight out of an old arcade game.
A total of 656 sounds are included, ready to add that retro feel to your next project.
This sound library features more than 300 minutes of audio recorded during wind storms in Gdynia. This was experimental session, with 7 microphones placed in different places, such as plant pots, watering can, bucket, behind wicker chairs, on the wall and ground. Everything was recorded during 4 different weather states. Each state has 7 mono perspectives + 2 stereo mixes (one outside, and one from the inside of containers). You can hear it in the preview or read in metadata list. Each file was named with UCS in mind.
Microphones used: LOM mics, DPA 4061 / 4062, Rode NTG3
This sound library features recordings of a car protest that took place in Gdynia, Poland. Due to changes in abortion law many people showed up on the streets. Since we’re in the middle of COVID outbreak, people decided to support the cause by using their engines and horns. I’ve taped two stereo sets to my car, and went there to capture it from both exterior and interior (one mono and one stereo setup) perspectives. This library features different location ambients, from subtle distant horns, through loud “peak” of the event recorded in the middle of everything that happened, up to masses of people walking by. Everything was recorded with stereo setup on the front of the car, stereo setup on the back of the car + two interior perspectives with windows closed, partially and fully opened. Also ambients were recorded with and without my contribution to the noise, that means that some files have my horn and engine revs, and some don’t. There’s plenty of material to choose from.
The Electromagnetic Field sound library features 216 stereo 96kHz recordings of more than 80 different electronic devices. The total length of the files is 6 hours and 18 minutes. Post production process was limited to EQ and compression with some noise reduction in few cases, but most of the files are ready for further processing and designing completely new sounds
Everything was recorded in stereo, and in some cases sounds are wildly flying across not only whole frequency spectrum but also pan image. Inside you’ll find a lot of different hum noises, hiss and electrical swipes and whooshes, buzzing high pitch and low pitch sounds, beeps and bleeps, servo and small engines running in a different way, data processing kind of sounds, interference and corruption effects and more. It’s a great all around library when it comes to designing various electronic machinery sound effects.

Get the sound of honey bees – inside and outside their hive – with this 96kHz and 24bit Beehive sound library.
All files were recorded outside the town, far away from the roads to capture the clean sound of the hardworking bees.
I had a chance to record those insects before the feeding time, so they were hungry and really active.
My main goal was to capture different sounds, not only the ambiences but also some close ones, like the sound of the bees landing on their landing zone or just the interior sound of the hive.
14 stereo files were recorded with Sound Devices 702, Sony PCM-M10 recorder, two DPA 4061 microphones hidden inside a hive and two Sennheiser MKH 8040 to capture the ambience in front of the hive.
Every stereo AB interior recording can be split to mono to isolate the single buzzes, and the library features a total of 44 minutes of bee sound recordings.

This library contains 17 different trains as they pass through the station, arrive and depart a rural station in Sweden. Trains include double decker passanger trains, local metro passanger trains, and few heavy freight train passes. They were recorded with two 4060s on the tracks with a mkh60 following, they are syncable.
These have a nice isolated stereo image and great for sound designing space ships and sci fi stuff. Also work Wonderfully for transition elements and corporate video introductions. Feel free to inquire before buying here.
This library is built as a sound designer tool set for creating pass-by, drive-by, fly-by or even creature sounds, including 347 files with a 192KHz sample-rate, recorded with the Sanken CO-100K combined with Nevaton MC59 mics to deliver full spectrum content. You can shape and twist these files to fit your needs without losing quality. No synths or real engines were used, only acoustic foley recordings providing a natural doppler effect for life-like filtering.
You can have high screeching sounds to deep rolling boomy engines, scraping gritty whooshes to airy sci-fi sounds.
Needless to say that these pass-by sounds can be the basis of your own sounds and sweeteners, be it vehicles or creatures, cartoon or cinema trailer…
All files are UCS compliant, include Metatags, and are bundled together in small groups that could sonically identify a virtual vehicle, each having multiple variations.
As these are clean raw recordings, no effects have been applied that might limit the use. The focus is on flexibility and varied use.
I have recorded 6 different fluorescent bulb lamps in an industrial warehouse with two close mic'd dpa 4060 in each that I then edited into 30 stereo files (about 5 takes of each with different lengths). Excellent for all of your warehouse, slum, industrial sound and ambience needs. Check out the video, or email before buying if you feel like it! Enjoy.

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
