Dog Vocalisations Vol. 2 features the unusual noises of a Wire Haired Standard Dachshund in heat. This pet’s personality shines through as she stubbornly tries to paw her way into her metal kennel.
Her frenzied behaviour makes way for bizarre whines, cries, barks, growls and mewls – all carefully captured and edited by our Audio Craftsmen. The result is a series of truly strange sounds ideal for creature sound design or enhancing character in your animal creations.
The candid quality of these sounds also makes them perfect for enhancing realistic animal moments in Film, TV and Game productions.
All sounds are delivered in 24Bit 192kHz format allowing further sonic manipulation and have been meticulously edited and tagged with extensive UCS compliant metadata for ease of use
Rare close-up recordings of a blimp engine (2x Goodyear with 154 kW) .
A unique propeller motor with a well-known and reconizable sound.
I was able to spend a short time during an engine test with one of the few airships in the world, a WDL blimp in Essen, Germany. The engine performed three different constant RPMs and all the transitions plus some additional rev-ups. I was able to record the noises with up to three mono mics (one on the engine and the other two a bit further away) and a stereo set up (onboard in the cabin most of the time). Check the file list for details.
In addition I recorded one ambience with a fly-by and the cabin doors opening and closing, some knobs being pushed and the air valve operating.
All files meta-tagged and use the UCS naming system.
Introducing a bold new take on Wood and Metal Creak SFX that will help you bring your project to the next level.
As sound enthusiasts, we were keen to bring something new to the table for this category of sound…and so a novel recording approach was created to produce the sounds for this library. Due to the incredibly subtle (and not so subtle!) audio details embedded in creak sounds, a recording environment is required with particularly effective sound isolation. At the same time, a high level of control over the variety of surface type and performances of the creaks themselves is needed. Our MacGyver recording engineer Phil found a solution that produced a setup within which we had isolation, control, and variety… the “Creak Box”.
The Creak Box is able to capture the most detailed essence of most resonant surface types, and has multiple stages of tension with which the performer of the creaks can play with. Happy with the source sounds that were being created – which is always the most important stage from beginning to end – we found that a multi mic rig was needed. To really get the depth and detail of these creaks we found that the best results were achieved by using a spatially tweaked-up microphone setup using the contact mic LOM Geophon, a pair of cardioid Sennheiser Mkh8040s, and a shotgun Rode NTG3. The best recordings always come from testing multiple mic positions, and experimenting with input levels and mic positions; this sound library brings you only our best takes.
As sound designers, we always need new, better, varied material. We want to feel excited by and connected to the sounds we use – enjoy and make it yours!
Wood: Old wood stairs, doors, floors, ships, houses, twisting and bending wood, chairs, tables, fences, and more.
Metal: Big and small doors, small squeaks, huge resonant duct and convector surfaces, chairs, benches, wires, bedsprings, and more.
(The video bellow contains added room tone to show some of the sounds in context.)

This library features a broad variety of rain sounds.
Interior – Inside various cars, in attics, houses, wood sheds and garages
Exterior – In the forest, on roofs (house, cabin, car), on concrete, dry leaves, bodies of water, metal, umbrellas and more
The single drops section is the heart of the library. There is a big amount of drips, that can be used to sweeten your rain ambience layers but also to design rain from scratch f.e. with software like Sound Particles or granular samplers. I recorded three kind of isolated dripping sounds in a studio setting:
Single Drops – Isolated tiny to bigger drops / splashes on plenty of surfaces, from glass, dirt, grass (real & artificial), wood, stone, concrete, water, cloth, plastic to metal and more
Multiple Drops – Clusters of water drops on various surfaces
Pour – Small extracts of poured water on various surfaces
Artifical Sweetener – two kind of Rainmaker and several frying tempeh (vegan variation of bacon) sounds, that add movement and wetness to your rain layers
If you are working with Sound Particles, this library includes a couple of projects, that you can use as is or as a starting point to create your own rain with included samples. That way you can fit your rain sounds to the exact intensity, gusts and dynamics of your picture or pictured rain.
IMPACTO contains a wide variety of sound types, ranging from trailer impacts and granular clouds to drones and full-fledged melodic tracks, which can be used as music stems in movies or games.
Most of source sounds were recorded using Sanken CO-100K ultrasonic microphone, which can capture frequencies up to 100 kHz, to get the most interesting sound foundation.
For this purpose I recorded various objects and textures (metal, glass, wood), as well as traditional acoustic instruments, strings, large gongs, singing bowls, didgeridoo, percussion, female vocals, chanting and etc. These sounds were further heavily processed with plug-ins, custom Max/MSP patches and external effects to get strange and unusual results.
The library also contains Source folder with recordings that are almost not processed (apart from pitch shift).
As a bonus, all sounds are integrated into Kontakt instruments with user-friendly interface and several effects (LP filter with resonance, AR envelope, three-band equalizer, reverb, delay and chorus).
November 2020. During last year´s Covid Pandemic lockdown, we took all our gear and visited “Entorno Doñana” equestrian facility in Boalo, Madrid.
Blacktone Studio Sound Team lead by Barto Alcaine & Alvaro de Iscar recorded this amazing library in full Multi-mic method. We covered Doñana´s horses with 3 shotgun mics (MKH416, Shoeps CMIT & MKH8070). We also mounted two Lectrosonic systems to the main horse; one on the belly and another one on the mouth.
Trot, Gallop, single horse, group and pair of horses and several surfaces: Grass, dirt, asphalt and even water! We covered every posible movement the horse could perform. Also some nice neighing & buffing!
We always found it difficult to find good horse samples in our library, so now, with this new library, we think that we have recorded everything we always needed in our projects! And in 96Khz High Quality Sample Rate !!

“The Shoe Collection: Soft Hardwood – Socks“ by Periscope Post & Audio, provides 22 high quality footsteps on soft hardwood floors with socks. The audio files are recorded at 24bit, 192k with mono and stereo recordings. The Sennheiser MKH-60 was used for the mono files with a slightly more distant mic placement than the stereo files, which were recorded with the Sennheiser MKH8050 and the Sennheiser MKH-30 near the sock. From different walking speeds, to jogging, sprinting, jumping, hard stops, scuffs, and more! We are also packaging the option of a different EQ curve to reduce some of the lower thump of the sock. There are several performances with each file to fit the right action you need. 438 Footsteps per version. That’s a whopping 876 footsteps between the mono and stereo files!
These sound files are also UCS metadata tagged

Worldwide Rivers & Waterfalls is a thorough collection of 99 sound recordings made around the world. It comprises ‘loopeable’ sounds of a wide variety of water streams from tiny small to broad wide rivers.
They were recorded in mountains, countryside, on bridges, under bridges, in caves, in tunnel, underwater (hydrophones), and throughout various geological features, as narrow canyon, mighty rivers, shallow streams running on Pebbles, Icy cold flow from melted snow, or hot boiling streams from active geothermal terrains.
Most of the captures are declined with various perspectives and distances from the sound source, allowing better integration in movie scenes or games. The library was recorded in these countries: Spain, Switzerland, Iceland, Georgia, France, Canada, Thailand, Ecuador, and Slovakia.
– Diverse Geological Features: boiling hot spring, icy cold stream, narrow canyon, wide, shallow,…
– Various Distances & Perspectives
– Highly focused and meticulously edited sounds
– Ready to use Loop
UCS-compliant, ambient recordings from various industrial sites, including the port of Aarhus with its bulk cargo and container terminals. Most of the sounds are quite generic though, and could be used in many different contexts. Some recordings are teeming with activity, while others feature deserted, yet humming and droning, industrial landscapes. Lots of HVAC with fans and pumps. Containers are moved, gravel is unloaded, engines are running. Very little wind, and hardly any legible speech. A few of the sounds are cut as seamless loops.
Most of the sounds were originally recorded with a Sennheiser MKH60/30 M/S setup. A few sounds appear in both mono and stereo versions, where the stereo version are X/Y derived from the M/S source files and the mono versions are simply the Mid channel. I did this, because most people seem to prefer X/Y files for post-work, rather than M/S – but a down-mix of X/Y to mono would be inferior to using the original Mid-mic signal. 4 of the sounds were recorded with a quasi binaural setup. All sounds were captured in Aarhus, Denmark.
Metal Bars & Bells: 49 shimmering, oscillating bell-like sounds from various metal objects. UCS-compliant.
No actual bells were harmed in the making of these sounds – but several other metal objects were. Crow bars and stainless steel soap trays are some of the sources of these beautiful, resonant sounds; ranging from clear, distinct glockenspiel-ish, to shimmering, modulated otherworldliness. If you’ve ever wanted to add square tubular bells or wrought-iron percussion to your mix, then this is your thing.
You get:
• Clean, high quality sounds
• All files trimmed to start, for ease of use in samplers
• Several variations per recorded object = organic and expressive productions
• Metadata included in CSV and ODS (OpenOffice) formats
• Add delay & reverb, put on headphones and…Heaven…

Enos Desjardins – Sound Designer/Sound Effects Editor (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Black Mirror)
“Slava has been creating some really cool libraries which I find myself using time and again. Really high quality recordings to start with but then the cool processing he has used for example in his cinematic whoosh libraries really stand out. They are not just your standard generic whoosh sounds but are loaded with character and have a unique feel to them that is really fresh and cuts through in the nicest of ways.”
Bjørn Jacobsen – AAA Sound Designer (CyberPunk 2077, HITMAN, DARQ)
“Slava has for several years made high quality sound effects for me to play with. I use his sound libraries across multiple projects as lego blocks of my creations.”
Ginno Legaspi – SoundBytes Music Magazine
“‘Evil Strings Tortured Wires’ is an all-scary affair with plenty of really good, nightmarish, imaginative sounds from authentic materials, like double bass, dulcimer strings and metal wires. Sound-wise, this sample pack is clean and carefully recorded. The editing and processing of sounds is top notch, with sound design techniques applied very professionally. Overall, very gritty and not for the faint of heart.”
Yarron Katz – AAA Composer and Sound Designer
“Slava makes some wonderful libraries. He’s relatively new on the scene and his libraries have come to critical acclaim. He takes some general ideas, like whooshes and he injects some extremely revolutionary and innovative ideas to them, so you’re not getting another whoosh library – you’re getting something very unique, very fresh. He brings some wonderful ideas to the table.”

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
