Illumination Designed Bundle Vol. 1 features an experimental collection of sounds crafted from the electromagnetic signals of various light source.
This bundle offers a variety of sci-fi inspired sounds, including cinematic elemenets, drones/ambiences and explosions. Our Audio Craftsmen used a Lite2Sound photodiode amplifier to capture the electric signal lights emit. These were then meticulously edited and manipulated to create a series of unique sounds.
The 3.27GB collection includes three volumes:
Illumination Designed Vol. 1:
A series of unique cinematic elements that blend stingers, risers, impacts and low frequency rumbles.
Illumination Designed Vol. 2:
A series of unique ambiences and drones.
Illumination Designed Vol. 3:
A series of futuristic, hi-tech explosions.
This bundle is designed to enhance film, TV, and game productions or trailers with an experimental, cyberpunk, or abstract edge. The sounds are suitable for genres like sci-fi, thriller, and fantasy, adding mystery, eeriness, and tension to projects.
All sounds are delivered in a high-quality 24Bit 96kHz format, allowing for further sonic manipulation. They have been meticulously edited and tagged with extensive UCS compliant metadata for easy organization and use.
‘Shoot ‘em up’ has never been this exciting! From powerful laser and plasma blasts, to specialised sounds such as fire, rain and laser circles, Sci-Fi Weapons: Bullet Hell adds intensity to virtual battles. With our trusty Vaemi’s El-Ma electromagnetic field mic, we’ve captured some wild electronic shenanigans, blending them with our synthetic sounds to cook up weapon effects that’ll make your players go, “Whoa!”
HAL has teamed up with sound designer Raphael Sohier to create the most comprehensive hospital sound effects library to date. General Hospital has 760 files and over 2000 sounds covering all aspects of the genre.
This collection is the result of years of work and aims to set a new standard for a genre mostly neglected by independent sound libraries until now. Even old tropes need new sound ideas (no pun intended) and we think we have achieved exactly this with our library.

This is an All-in-One SFX library where you will find :
Ambiences – Whether it is a busy corridor, a bursting waiting area or the strange calm of an ICU bedroom with all its machines, you will find it in here. We have recorded in various hospitals located in France – discernible speech was edited out so the recordings could cover a broader use.
Medical Equipment – From the syncopated hissy sound of a ventilator to the disruptive power of a MRI machine or the strange hollow resonances of an hyperbaric chamber, we’ve recorded a large number of medical devices with multiple perspectives.
Activities – What would be of a medical drama without the sound of hasty fooststeps down the hallway or of a gurney descending abruptly out of an ambulance ? Typical activities such as these were recorded on real locations for this collection.
Foley – We have welcomed veteran foley artist Gilles Marsalet in order to cover some specifics such as surgical instruments and operating table gore which, to say the least, demands a certain finesse – the same delicacy that separates doctors from flesh-eating zombies.
Sirens – Wailing, whoppers, piercers, buzzers, dual-tone…we’ve got them all. Getting in and out of a hospital in style is guaranteed.
Beeps – These are perhaps the most iconic sounds related to this kind of environment. Our collection has beeps in all waveshapes and colors, recorded from real devices in pristine condition and designed for even more flexibility. Whether you are looking for realism or you just want to enhance the drama, General Hospital has got you covered.
Hospitals are often depicted in fiction because they are places inherently rich in conflict and human drama. They are the ideal setting for stories about struggle, sacrifice, strengthening of bonds, loss… As sound designers we try to enhance these feelings through the creation of dynamics and subtle sonic variations. General Hospital was crafted with this in mind and it offers a broad palette of sounds in order to give you as many options as possible while working on a scene.

When my wife and I were taking a little vacation in the woods of Hardwick, Vermont, I was awestruck by just the utter absence of any anthropogenic noise around us. Whenever there was a car coming through, you’d hear it from miles away, and, with it being late November, there were no bird calls for the majority of the time.
In a small patch of forest near Nichols Pond lies a network of creeks and water runoffs that are ideal for capturing undisturbed, serene sounds of water flowing. Stable temperatures meant that there was very consistent snow melt and the flow of the water stayed steady throughout many hours of recording.
As a result, this single-purpose library contains long-form recordings of these creeks that will excel wherever the sounds of water flowing are desired with not even the slightest hint of looping. With the exception of two babbling brooks captured in stereo during a hike, all recordings are 10 minutes long and captured in AmbiX (Ambisonic B-Format) for the greatest possible flexibility when it comes to placing them in a virtual environment.
These recordings are free of edits and include stereo versions for dragging and dropping without the need for Ambisonic decoding. As a special treat, three long-form recordings are also accompanied by a Geofón track that captures the vibrations caused by the water in the nearby soil.
Recording Specs: 24 Bit / 96 kHz AmbiX & Stereo. 48 kHz Mono Geofón Recordings
Channel Formats: AmbiX (Ambisonic B-Format), Stereo, Mono
File Format: WAV
Size: 4.6 GB Stereo & Geofón, 8.3 GB AmbiX, 12.8 GB total
Gear used: RØDE NT-SF1 Ambisonic Mic, LOM Geofón, LOM Uši Pro, Zoom F6, Zoom F3

With A Sound Effect, Asbjoern has created a web site where our international community can browse, learn, and share the vast fruits of our labors. Together we are accelerating the very real potential power of sound design as a recognized art form.
A Sound Effect is an excellent resource for us to keep our animated films sounding unique and exciting.
A Sound Effect is a great asset to have discovered.
We found the site very easy to navigate, purchasing and downloads were effortless and the effects themselves are awesome! Asbjoern has done us all a great service.
We’ll definitely be back!
There are many great independent sound effect libraries available these days. The main problem with having so many, is keeping track of them!
A Sound Effect is a great hub, and is one of the first places I visit to look for sounds by category or genre. I started coming here to see if I could find libraries that I knew I had heard, but forgot WHERE I had heard them.
And in the process discovered libraries I never would have found otherwise. Great work! Keep it up!
We're always looking for new sounds to mangle, so when A Sound Effect had a holiday sale, I tried them out.
The purchase experience is really smooth and quick, and delivery is almost instant.
I'll definitely come back to them again in the future!
A Sound Effect is a wonderful resource for indie sound effects libraries. On top of that, it has some of the finest sound design, film and game audio interviews!
I often need very specific types of sounds so I've become a big supporter of independent recorders.
Until now I've always had to go to their individual websites. Now I can find them all in one place.
And, Asbjoern is great to work with!
A Sound Effect is a well curated boutique sound effects shop and a great place to find industry interviews and learning resources.
