AirCon 2023 Audio Conference statistics

When we initially came up with the idea for AirCon, we never would have guessed how big it would become. The level of involvement from both participants and attendees exceeded our wildest expectations! Here are some standout statistics from AirCon 23 that we loved:

  • Over 50 hours of live events! We had 35 individual live events, resulting in a wealth of knowledge sharing equivalent to more than two full days!
  • A remarkable total of 77 industry professionals generously volunteered their time to contribute to AirCon through live events, AMAs, and interviews. A huge thank you to everyone involved!
  • We were thrilled to welcome 1380 attendees to Airwiggles during AirCon! A huge thanks to everyone in the community who tuned in!
  • Notably, 604 of these attendees were new users who joined us this month! A warm welcome to all of our new Airwiggling friends!
  • On average, our live events had an audience attendance of 78! That would be a pretty packed room in real life!
  • The busiest live event goes to “Field and Foley Recording for Game Audio” presented by Ben Reichstein and Arron Amo-Travers, which had 155 members in the live audience!
  • 3: That’s the total hours of sleep Greg and Lewis got over the 2 week conference. It was worth it! ;)

Thanks to everyone involved with AirCon 2023

We loved running AirCon on Airwiggles this year! Everyone has been saying it must have been a lot of work to put together – and it was – but we can’t overstate enough that without the help from so many amazing people, AirCon would have been pretty rubbish. As always, the audio community helped make AirCon as fun and interesting as it was, and I wanted to give a huge shout out to everyone who made it possible:

First off, I’d like to give a huge thanks to our ‘Airwiggles Senate’ as we like to call them: who help Greg and I with decisions, planning, and testing things behind the scenes:

Aaron Richards, Aidan Hall, Asbjoern Andersen, Daniel Richer, Heli Linnus, Jack O’Callaghan, Jamie Lee, Jon Kelliher, Katharina Bär, Lewis Ball, Sergio Ronchetti

Next, a huge thanks to our AirCon chat moderation team, who helped us ensure that all live events ran smoothly!

Aaron Richards, Heli Linnus, Jamie Lee, Jon Kelliher, Lewis Ball, Steve Simpson, Tomas Castillo

Now, a very special thanks to the following people for conducting some of our live events and interviews!

Jennifer Walden, Lewis Ball, Tomas Castillo

Next up, a big thanks to these wonderful Airwiggles users who kindly contributed to a behind-the-scenes SFX library as a courtesy gift for all of our speakers!

Aaron Richards, Aidan Hall, Andrew Weigh, Heli Linnus, Joe Wilson, Jon Kelliher, Lewis Ball, Noah Campodonico, Pablo Velasco

A big thanks to the team over at A Sound Effect for helping us shape AirCon into such an awesome event!
